Vivienne Westwood X Canopy : Vivus by Kai-Isaiah Jamal

Kai’s poem is a celebration of life and a paean to the world’s forests. It aims to tell the story of the often destructive link between ancient forests and the fashion we consume. It juxtaposes logging and pulping trees to make viscose with the dream of a world that values forests too much to tear them down. The video, created by video artist Aiden Zamiri features dystopian collages and a moody soundscape that, in concert with Jamal’s moving poem, captures the urgent need to preserve Ancient and Endangered Forests globally and reverse the growing climate and wildlife crises.
